Summa time deh ya! And we have nothing or no one in mind more than our beloved readers! We’re coming up with ways to keep you both cool and entertained for those days when you know, sunbathing becomes too much of a chore!
Here is a list of the top five WATER ACTIVITIES that are sure to make a splash in your summer break!
- Banana Boat Rides
One of the best ways to get a quick rush of adrenaline! The best part about it is you get to enjoy this activity as a group. Don’t be afraid to get wet! A banana boat ride certainly guarantees great value for your buck as it allows up to five riders at minimal rates.
Check out Castaway Caye Watersports for more info (Ambergris Caye)
- SUP Paddle Boarding
Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Boarding is a great way to get in a good work out or enjoy a breathtaking view of the reef. It’s become quite the trend on the island; so much in fact that even island yogis actually do SUP Paddle Yoga groups. So cool to watch! But don’t let that intimidate you; SUP is pretty fun even if you’re just learning. It’s equally fun to splash in the water after your first attempts of standing upright! I was preggo when our staff first tried it out at BIG SUP Belize, but I’m actually pretty excited to give it a go now that my cute little bun is out of the oven!

- Jet Skis
There’s nothing that says fun in the sun quite like a jet ski ride! Get on the water and enjoy racing through sparkling Caribbean waters on top of the line SeaDoo skis. Also available at Castaway Caye WaterSports.
- Snorkeling
Snorkeling is probably one of my most favorite water activities. Tamara (my boss-lady) considers it her quick fix for a dose of “Vitamin Sea.” Seriously there’s no better way to enjoy and really connect with your environment. Snorkeling brings about a greater appreciation for our marine environment, and let’s not forget the gorgeous sightings you’ll be sure to come across. From beautiful coral beds to colorful fish and sea turtles there’s absolutely no limitation to just what all you will see! Check out No Worries Tours or Belize Diving Adventures.
- River Tubing
If ever you find yourself off of the Cayes, River Tubing is a great way to take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest. Make your way downstream with binoculars in hand and catch a glimpse of howler monkeys, toucans, or flocks of parrots as they rest in the branches of trees that dot the riverbanks.
We hope you get a chance to make your summer an amazing one by trying out as many of these activities as you can! If you do, please feel free tell us about it at [email protected] and be sure to share your awesome photos as well!
