The Central American Trade Office (CATO) is an organization in Taiwan set up by that Government to support its allies in SICA (the Central American System of Integration) in the promotion of trade, investment, tourism and culture. Each year CATO organizes a series of regional activities alongside individual country activities for the Embassies in Taiwan. In looking at the 2017 activities under this program, the Embassy of Belize decided that they would give some attention to culture, thus the participation in Giftionery 2018, featuring Unique Belize and Twig & Pearl (Rebecca Stirm). “Giftionery” provides a prominent stage for the display, procurement and branding of creative, innovative and unique gifts representative of Belize’s cultural and creative industry. This participation will afford NICH an opportunity to seek business and market opportunities and perhaps open market channels for quality and characteristic handicrafts of Belize.
