September is right around the corner, and it means that Belize will turning 35! To celebrate, Belizeans will be proudly waving the red and blue flag with the coat of arms to honor their heritage. It also means that events will be occurring across the country, leading up to Belize’s Independence Day on Wednesday, September 21st. Since the celebrations are often considered the most patriotic, festive, and memorable part of the year, the National Celebrations Commission (NCC) isn’t holding back from the thrill.September Celebrations Island Parade (11)
This year’s celebrations are being held under the theme “Sovereign and Strong – Together as one” and with the release of the 2016 Playbill and Calendar of Events, which includes celebrations, commemorations and other September-related programs around the country, there are enough activities to keep everyone entertained!Carnival Road March September Celebrations-26

A few updates to the Calendar of Events:

Saturday, Sept. 3: Carnival King and Queen is at Marion Jones Stadium NOT Rogers Stadium. There will be a special tent/staging area for the news media on the field.

Friday, Sept. 9: Pan Yaad Steel Bands Concert is at Marion Jones Stadium NOT House of Culture

Friday. Sept. 16: Sound Fest is at Government House-House of Culture NOT Bird’s Isle

Sunday, Sept. 18: National Day of Prayer Ecumenical Service is at Central Assembly of God NOT Holy Redeemer Cathedral
