There are many bartenders in Belize who can manage to capture your heart (and liver). One of those talented mixologists is Romeo Kotch, who hails from Benque Viejo Del Carmen, in the Cayo District.
You’re not supposed to play favorites, seeing as every bartender works hard to serve your beverage of choice, but I really genuinely have mad love for Romeo.
It could be the fact that he has looked out for us every time we go to his workplace (El Divino at Banana Beach), or that he has given me solid advice to stay safe – especially with which cab to take in the late hours of night. A family man, Romeo works long hours and says he enjoys his time off with his family.
Then there are his mixed drinks. Good lord – even the BEERS he pours extra strong! He claims to truly enjoy making Green Apple Martinis, and if you’re a regular at El Divino, you know all about Martini Mondays! From sangrias to long island iced teas, Romeo takes his job seriously and we love him all the more for it.
