The first of its kind in Belize, the Alaia Resort-member of the Marriott Autograph collection is now open south of San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye. Boasting more than 1,000 feet of beachfront access, the resort features modern amenities, gorgeous grounds, and impressive details. Alaia is the perfect getaway for those looking for comfort, luxury, and pampering when visiting La Isla Bonita.

To better appreciate this monumental accomplishment in the island’s hospitality industry, Alaia’s management provided a media tour of the property highlighting the country’s first-ever suspended rooftop pool and lounge that can be appreciated at the resort entrance. The impressive lobby is welcoming, decked with an assortment of Belizean hardwoods and plants, seating areas, a gift shop, a self-playing piano, and a bar serving crafted cocktails.

The next place to visit is the rooftop offering 360-degree views of the Caribbean Sea, the second largest barrier reef in the world, and San Pedro with jaw-dropping vistas of the sunrise and sunset. The swimming pool is epic, and the restaurant and bar are unique with customized chairs made in Vietnam, while other furniture is made in Belize.

The resort has a handful of dining concepts offering the best in quality, variety, and delicacy. The Vista Rooftop restaurant offers sushi, ceviche, and dinner. Sea Salt serves the catch of the day (seafood), meats, all with a Belizean touch. The Terrace Bar serves lunch and dinner with items such as salads, seafood, sandwiches, and more. Next is the Deck and Beach Bar, which is al fresco on the beach serving local dishes for lunch and dinner. The resort also counts with a Piano Bar, offering an upscale setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with cocktails and high-end wines. The resort is also preparing to open a wine club, where guests can enjoy an intimate evening with superb wines.

Alaia spans over 20 acres and is a 155-unit hotel. Some of the two-bedroom units can be turned into a one-bedroom or studio room. Many of these come with gorgeous outdoor balconies. The seafront villas are spacious and accommodating with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a private plunge pool, a bathtub, and a large shower with the beach and sea vistas. They are ideal for families wanting to stay together in the same unit. To view rates, click here https://bit.ly/2R2WfP2

The resort management has announced that there will be new additions to the property. A new project, the construction of 120 studio rooms, is an adult-only beach club set to start soon. For more information, click here https://bit.ly/34rh3CR

The beautifully manicured resort grounds were busy with guests enjoying the vast swimming pool. Its private areas include sunken lounging areas and day beds. Other amenities Alaia offers include a Spa and Wellness Center, a fully equipped and modern gym, and even an onsite facility for COVID-19 rapid testing. Alaia offers sea/reef and inland tours and is the only luxury resort in the country with a dive shop providing PADI certification.
