The annual Placencia Lobsterfest is one of Belize’s most anticipated summer celebrations, combining fresh seafood, beach parties, live music, and vibrant coastal culture along the beautiful Placencia Peninsula.

For 2026, the festival is scheduled for July 3–5, 2026, taking place primarily in Placencia Village near the beachfront and Municipal Pier area.

The festival celebrates the official opening of Belize’s lobster season and transforms Placencia into a lively beachfront party for three full days. Visitors can expect:

• Fresh lobster prepared every way imaginable, including grilled tails, lobster tacos, ceviche, chowders, pasta dishes, skewers, and creative gourmet specialties
• Beachfront food booths and local restaurant competitions
• Live music, DJs, dancing, and late-night beach parties
• Arts, crafts, and local artisan vendors
• Family-friendly games and activities
• Ice-cold tropical cocktails and Belizean rum drinks
• The hugely popular Lobsterfest raffle, featuring prizes such as resort stays, tours, dining experiences, spa packages, and cash prizes.

What makes Placencia’s festival especially unique is the setting. Unlike larger festivals, Placencia combines lively energy with a laid-back village atmosphere. You can spend the day barefoot on the beach enjoying lobster and music, then stroll the famous Placencia Sidewalk lined with restaurants, bars, and local shops. Many visitors describe it as the perfect balance between celebration and relaxed Caribbean charm.
