From May 18th to the 20th, the Chocolate Festival of Belize will be hosted in Punta Gorda Town.

Friday – May 18
Pre-chocolate Bash featuring the X-Band.

Taste of Toledo Street Fair @ Front Street 9AM – 5PM
Wine & Chocolate Night @ Garbutt’s Marine 7PM

Sunday May 20
Grand Finale @ Nim Li Punit Maya Site

The Chocolate Festival of Belize started life in 2007 as the Toledo Cacao Festival. The idea came from a member of the tourism community – Darla Mallory from Coral House Inn. Cacao is chocolate – and native to the Americas. The Toledo District of southern Belize is recognized for its superior cacao. These cacao beans are a significant national export crop and chocolatiers in Belize craft this “food of the Gods” to perfection.
Every Commonwealth Day Holiday Weekend (late May) we celebrate this amazing food, and many chocolate lovers return to Toledo to indulge in the world of chocolate.
